Diverless UWILD Inspection

Even accounting the savings from avoiding a dry-dock, underwater operations remain one of the costliest inspection and maintenance activities. Offshore diving activity is also unhealthy and dangerous. Such kind of operation requires at least eight members for an offshore team, as well as a large amount of equipment – such as compressors, tanks, compressed air and oxygen cylinders, masks, winches, decompression chamber, among others – to allow the activity to be performed under minimally safe conditions.

With this in mind Gulf carries out underwater offshore inspection and monitoring through remote and unmaned technology, which significantly reduce the time exposed to risk and reduce cost to deliver Class Society Inspections requirements for Oil and Gas MODU and MOPU vessels. All with the advantage of a safe operation due to divers mothballing.

Our high quality remote specialist solutions for Underwater inspections in lieu of dry docking (UWILD) employs Multi-Purpose ROVs that allow unparalleled flexibility and efficiency, including:

  • Standard visual fly-by inspection of the hull structure and specific niches;
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT) such as thickness gauging and cathodic protection readings;
  • FPSO hull, turret inspection and mooring lines inspection;
  • Cavitation cleaning.

For the mooring lines, capabilities extend from the splashzone until the seabed, with special focus given up to 30m below the waterline and up to 30m above the seabed, including dimensional chek, CP test and NDT with work class ROVs and Go-no-Go gauges. If required, Gulf may include vessel and TMS provision for an integrated solution.

Through our strategic partnerships, Gulf are ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyds and RINA recognized external in-water survey specialist service provider.
